We have been discussing the evolution and design of our programming over the past two weeks (part 1 and part 2 in case you missed it).  I am going to take a break from that series to congratulate all of our athletes and members that have worked so hard over the past 6 weeks!

The EIE Challenge:

With 115 official participants, this has not only been our biggest, but also our most successful Challenge to date!  All retest data and pictures must be turned in and emailed by this Sunday at midnight!  The weekly programming will be similar to our the EIE testing week from 6 weeks ago, but if you cannot make the designated testing date, don’t worry you can test out on any given day.  Once we receive all the data, it will be compiled and the coaches will narrow down the challengers to the top 20 individuals.  These outstanding individuals will then be voted on by all EIE Challengers to determine the top 3 winners, including a grand prize worth over $2000!  The winners will be announced at the EIE Post party on 4/20 at the Venice gym location.

The CrossFit Games Open:

We had over 100 athletes officially registered for the CrossFit Games Open this year!  All levels of athletes had a chance to experience the thrill of competition and the sting of their limitations.  We are proud of everyone that put themselves on the line to test their fitness and face the unknown over the past 5 weeks.  No matter where you finished, we hope you enjoyed the experience and have begun to think about your training for next year;)

The most excitement came from our team placing 10th out of 173 teams in Southern California (up from 29th place last year) and 82nd out of 2822 teams worldwide!  A big congratulations and thanks to Jesse Baz, Joe D, McCoy, Lara Erlank, Lauren Gravatt and Jessica Suver for not only representing Paradiso CrossFit, but for contributing the top 6 scores for every workout!

This means that we will be moving onto the SoCal Regional Competition on May 17-19 in del Mar.  Be sure to make hotel reservations now and we will let you know when tickets come on sale!  Click HERE for all of the Socal Regional details!
