USAW Goodland Open
Here is the information from our friend Nick Conn and Matt Major regarding the USAW meet at CrossFit Goodland near Santa Barbara on April 6th. I will be lifting and I know a number of you have expressed interes. Sign up and represent VBC!
“Weightlifters of the Central Coast (and beyond),
Coach Matt Major and I are pleased to announce the Inaugural USAW Goodland Open to be held at Santa Barbara Strength Saturday April 6th2013. The event will include a USAW Sanctioned Meet as well as an optional Old School Clean and Press competition after the conclusion of the Clean and Jerk. As the Goodland Open is a sanctioned event all competitors must be USAW Members and will be required to show their membership cards when weighing in for the event.
Registration for the Goodland Open is just $25, but there will be a strict cap on the number of athletes.
This will be the first event of many in an effort to build up the sport of Olympic Weightlifting for the Central Coast. Desire is more important than ability. We strongly encourage athletes of all abilities to participate in search of the almighty PR. If you would like to get involved as an athlete or volunteer please contact us at info@elysiumbb.com.
Lifting shoes are highly recommended and lifters will be required to wear singlets. As we get closer to the event date registered athletes will be receiving an email with more information about the day including the weigh-in and lifting schedule.
