“And while the law of competition may be sometimes hard for the individual, it is best for the race, because it ensures the survival of the fittest in every department.” -Andrew Carnegie
As of right now, there are 21 athletes signed up for the Open. As a gym we can do better. As individuals, we can do better. I know the reason most of you haven’t signed up is fear you aren’t good enough, you’re not competitive enough, you can’t do this or that. It’s ok! The Open is designed to be as inclusive as possible. There may be things you can’t do but it won’t matter. Last years Open workouts were all AMRAPS which guaranteed the majority of people could participate for the duration. Even if you only get 1 rep, you’re still in it! We will follow a similar format as we did last year with the Open workouts being done during regular class time. You will be judged and held accountable to specific standards. We will also designate a specific day and time outside of regular class to ensure everyone gets a chance to participate, support, cheer, and judge. Don’t think, just do it! (here)
