Beach Cruiser Triathalon!

The 1st Annual PCF Beach Cruiser Triathalon coming up on November 20th!

PLEASE NOTE:  THE EVENT DETAILS HAVE ALREADY BEEN SENT OUT, IF YOU DID NOT RECEIVE THE EMAIL AND WOULD LIKE TO VOLUNTEER OR PARTICIPATE, PLEASE CONTACT US ASAP!

The race will start at 10am on the beach in Venice and end at one of our members’ houses in the area (address TBA).  You are welcome to invite your friends and significant others.  The race will take about an hour and a half, concluding with food and drinks!  There is no entry fee, but we will be providing a roast turkey, a ham, tossed salad and a keg of cider, so please bring a side dish for the after race gathering!

1K Swim– Don’t worry!  For those that are not as experienced in the water, this is not a sanctioned event, there are no rules!

Feel free to wear floaties, use a kick board, use one of those noodle things, just get in the water!  The swim will be prescreibed at two laps of 500 meters (250m each way), but the swim is scalable to all ability levels!

Shorter laps and less total distance are both available.  We will have multiple people on surfboards for support and you can rest as much as necessary on the beach between laps.   For those concerned about the cold, that’s half the fun!  (Although you could wear a wetsuit if you would like:)

If you have any questions or concerns about the swim please let me know!

10K Bike ride– From the water, you will run back to the house, wash down, grab your bike and go!  To level the playing field against all those with kick ass bicycles, this will be a mandatory single speed beach cruiser bike ride!  The path will be announced closer to the event date, but we will be utilizing the bike path primarily.  If you do not have a beach cruiser, you can rent one from a variety of Venice Bike shops:  Bikecurious, Perry’s Beach Rentals, Venice Bike and Skates, etc.

5K Run– Drop your bike off at the house and finish off on the run to finish the race!  The classic long distance for a CrossFitter, you should all be familiar with this, so go hard!

The path will be announced closer to the event date.

We will need a few volunteers to work water safety, take pics, watch the bikes and cheer on the athletes.  If you are interested, please contact us or post in comments below!
