The CrossFit Games are coming up in two weeks, but we also have the Olympic Games this summer as well! Have you been watching the Olympic Trials? This is our first summer Olympic Games since opening our doors and my perspective is so much different from any other time in my life. I find myself glued to the screen. Feeling the athletes’ moments of glory and agony of defeat. I am in awe of what they can do. The ability to relate to the Olympic Lifting, Gymnastics, and Track and Field events is obvious, but having an understanding of the dedication to training this must have taken brings watching the trials to another level.
Imagine what it feels like to train for an event for four years.
Everything coming down to a single moment. First time hopefuls, returning athletes looking for redemption, veteran athletes and returning champs…you can feel their energy! I think about how many workouts have happened in our gym, how many members have come though the doors and how much we have grown and thats only been three years. These athletes have been training for this moment that entire time!
The reality of this type of training and dedication towards a goal and dream is inspiring. Stay committed to your training, health and fitness and think about what you can do in four years!
