You may have already noticed, but our warm up routine has been evolving.  According to the CF Journal, our intention should be to have a warm-up that will increase body temperature and heart rate, provide some stretching, stimulate the entire body and major biomechanical functions, provide practice for basic movements, and finally, prepare for rigorous athletic training.

We have decided that our warm up is not something that needs to be interesting or challenging, as much as effective at fulfilling the above requirements.  If there is Olympic lifting included in the WOD, we will incorporate the Burgener Warm up (wmv/ mov).  Otherwise, the warm up will include a stretch and major hip/leg extension, trunk/hip extension and flexion, and pushing and pulling movements.

Watch this video for the classic CrossFit Warm up (wmv/ mov).
