Dusty swung by again last night and we had the pleasure of having him show us a free standing handstand push up on parallettes.  Watch the video and check out the angle his body takes through the movement.  For those of you that were struggling today, or just wondering why we kept repositioning your body, this demo should give you a good reference point for what we are working towards.

While we were hanging out, he repeated something that he also said during the seminar this weekend, “I don’t know everything.”  In the seminar, he followed it up with, “I’ve just been doing this for a long time.”  Both times were in reference to coaching individuals needs and the community environment that we need to nourish.  Just to let you know, I don’t know everything either, but my hope is that the gym is a place that provides the support and resources to help every individual reach their goals.  The work required can seem daunting:  mobility, strength, coordination, etc.  The sign of a mature CrossFit athlete is understanding that there are a multitude of paths that can be taken.  The key is to stay healthy for as long as possible, so that we have a chance to explore as many of these paths as possible.  There are no short cuts to experience and understanding.  Do not get frustrated, work hard and be grateful you are on the path!
