In case you’re bad at math, that’s 3 years and 4 months of paying for an unlimited membership at the gym!  I ran into this fancy treadmill at Sport Chalet and nearly lost my mind.  That’s not including tax mind you.  Watch the promo video and listen to what people love about this machine:  new technology and low impact.  I’ve never been on a treadmill or an Adaptive Motion Trainer for that matter, but lets talk about ‘low impact’ for a moment.

Take today’s workout, the hang power snatch.  Some people with bad knees, hips or shoulders might look at that as dangerous or even worse, high impact!  It is true that if you suffer from joint pain, this may not be the greatest workout to perform with a high load, but the question remains, what do you do to fix the problem?  Is the answer a low impact machine?  The answer is a simple no.  These machines can be great for rehab, but for the general public, they are a distraction from the real problem.  Our bodies are designed to be active and strong.  Years of inactivity, sitting in chairs, hunching over our computers and poor posture wreak havoc on our body.  We need to get strong!  And now!!

Sometimes I feel like there is a battle waging for our health, especially when I’m driving down the highway playing the “Count the Lap Band Billboards game.”  Stay strong my fellow CrossFitters, we are leading the way!
