Chris Benck

Chris was born here in Santa Monica, CA. Raised by a single mother, they moved around a lot and when she got married, they moved across the country to Gainesville, Florida. Both California natives, the Florida weather eventually took it's toll and after 4 years they moved back to California, this time way up north to a tiny town called Groveland; a place so small and unknown it was rarely marked on maps. Chris was still only in middle school at this time and began getting into trouble. His mother felt it best he move to live with his Dad who was in Charlottesville, VA. So once again, Chris packed up for a cross country trek. He would live in Virginia up until 2014 when he finally pulled the trigger on something he had wanted to do for a long time ... that of course being moving back to California and ironically living in Santa Monica, only blocks away from some of his childhood homes.

From a very young age Chris was always full of energy and was not one to sit still. Sports were a great outlet for this and so he played anything and everything. He was tall, lanky, and left handed, so he excelled in many sports based on those gifts. His main passion was Basketball.  When he landed in Virginia it was the beginning of 8th grade and he made the JV high school team. Soon after that he became a starter and would continue that all through high school. Chris set school records for 3's made in a game and 3’s made in a season his junior year and helped the team make back to back state finals in his final two seasons at Albemarle High School. Unfortunately, they couldn't win it all and playing in college wasn't meant to be.

After school Chris did some soul searching, started working, and quickly climbed the ladder in restaurant management, traveling and opening new stores for Panera Bread. Eventually though, that career ran its course and Chris decided to head west for an opportunity with a childhood friend’s supplement company. Around this time, he learned about Crossfit while searching ways to train for a Spartan Race. Upon arriving in LA, he immediately found a box and fell in love.

While he continues to work with Venum Nutrition, he now has a position with PCF, assisting with facility management and helping pursue Diso' s dream of having the greatest gym in the world.
