A little history on Labor Day from Wikipedia:

…In the United States, Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of their country
…Ironically, because of the importance of the sale weekend, some of those who are employed in the retail sector not only work on Labor Day, but work longer hours.  More Americans work in the retail industry than any other, with retail
employment making up 24% of all jobs in the United States
…Labor Day has come to be celebrated by most Americans as the symbolic end of the summer. In high society, Labor Day is (or was) considered the last day of the year when it is fashionable to wear white
…In U.S. sports, Labor Day marks the beginning of the NFL and college football seasons. NCAA teams usually play their first games the weekend of Labor Day, with the NFL traditionally playing their first game the Thursday following Labor Day.

I just requested they add this to their description:

…In cities across the US, people come together to celebrate the hard work they have put into their Health and Fitness, by performing abnormally long and strenuous conditioning workouts.  While these workouts appear to be the opposite of what Labor Day is all about, participants swear that kicking their own ass for almost an hour and suffering through a long slog of a workout both increases the enjoyment of drinking margaritas for the rest of the day and promotes the importance of hard work.

Keep up the good work in and outside the gym!
