It is day 5 into our 30 Day Road to Regionals Challenge. Many of you have enthusiastically shared with myself, the other coaches, and on the blog what you ate that you prepared with your own hands in your own kitchen. I am proud that you are heeding the call to eat food you cooked yourself. It is with the discovery of cooking, the application of heat to meat or vegetable, that changed the evolutionary path of humans, and set us apart from all the other animals on the planet. Cooking enlarged our brain, and shrunk our gut.

In this captivating TED talk, learn more about how cooking is the single most important technology to unleashing human potential, even 250,000 years after its discovery. I believe that in the act and ritual of touching, manipulating and cooking ones’ food you are unleashing your own potential, not just nourishing your body.

Please continue posting what you’re cooking at home, I certainly enjoy reading about it.
