Today’s WOD is in memory of Open Sectional WOD 11.5.  This may have been my least favorite of them all, or at least the one that made me the most frustrated!  Its going to be hard to not talk about the CrossFit Games all week long.  I can’t believe it has been a year since last years games!  For those that are new to the gym, we kicked off this CF Games season in April by participating in the first ever Open Sectional qualifying competition.  Along with 29,000 other athletes worldwide, we waited patiently each week for the workout to be released online.  Then we performed the required tasks under supervision of a judge and submitted our scores to be ranked.  There were 6 wods total, with one each week.  There was no scaling if you wanted to be ranked, and you had a judge counting every rep!  I personally enjoyed the feeling of having the stakes raised and the involvement of so many others going through the same experience.  This weekend, all the speculation, talking and training will come together for a final epic conclusion…I can’t wait!

Also, for anyone interested in competing in the local competition series, the Next Level Invitational, check out the details here.  Registration opens in about 2 weeks, but there are qualifiers that need to be completed first.  I have emailed them to see if we can judge our own athletes.  Please let me know if you are interested!
