Box Jump

Another basic movement in the CrossFit arsenal!

The standards are to get your hips as high as they would be if you were standing on the box. You have three basic ways of completing that standard:

-step up (not recommended unless injured)
-jump to the top, stand to full extension and then step or hop down
-jump to the top, and then come to extension in the air as you hop down

It is important to work on “bounding,” which takes advantage of the elasticity of your achilles and calves. Work at a height that you can bound and you will see great improvements in your overall athletic abilities!
